The Value of an HBS Online Certificate
As the data shows, HBS Online offers a transformative learning experience. It equips professionals with in-demand skills employers need, boosts their confidence, and provides a positive return on investment (ROI).
Twenty-four percent of more than 1,700 respondents said HBS Online helped increase their salary by an average of $20,466—representing an 11-times return on their $1,850 course investment. Ten percent of learners said HBS Online helped them earn a bonus of an average of $9,571.
“From prior surveys, we knew we helped people advance their careers, but we were thrilled to see how we could also help our learners significantly increase their pay,” says HBS Online Executive Director Patrick Mullane. “It’s gratifying to know we’re helping our participants by offering valuable courses that enable them to expand their global networks, improve their confidence at work, and enhance their economic well-being.”
Respondents were asked how HBS Online directly helped them secure promotions, salary increases, bonuses, and career changes. Here are some of the results, featured in the infographic below:
- 91 percent of HBS Online learners said they gained immediately applicable skills
- 71 percent improved their performance at work
- 66 percent enhanced their qualifications for a new job
- 27 percent transitioned to a new industry or field
- 92 percent increased their confidence
- All surveyed learners completed their HBS Online course within the past three years
